> Sejarah SQL Server

Microsoft SQL Server adalah sebuah sistem manajemen basis data relasional (RDBMS) produk Microsoft. Bahasa kueri utamanya adalah Transact-SQL yang merupakan implementasi dari SQL standar ANSI/ISO yang digunakan oleh Microsoft dan Sybase. Umumnya SQL Server digunakan di dunia bisnis yang memiliki basis data berskala kecil sampai dengan menengah, tetapi kemudian berkembang dengan digunakannya SQL Server pada basis data besar.

Microsoft SQL Server dan Sybase/ASE dapat berkomunikasi lewat jaringan dengan menggunakan protokol TDS (Tabular Data Stream). Selain dari itu, Microsoft SQL Server juga mendukung ODBC (Open Database Connectivity), dan mempunyai driver JDBC untuk bahasa pemrograman Java. Fitur yang lain dari SQL Server ini adalah kemampuannya untuk membuat basis data mirroring dan clustering. Pada versi sebelumnya, MS SQL Server 2000 terserang oleh cacing komputer SQL Slammer yang mengakibatkan kelambatan akses Internet pada tanggal 25 Januari 2003.
Pada saat tulisan ini dipublikasikan, SQL Server juga sudah mulai dengan versi beta dari SQL Server 2005.

Sebelum menginstall SQL server 2000, berikut ini spesifikasi minimum untuk komputer yang akan diinstall SQL server 2000

> Cara Menginstal
1. Klik dua kali Autorun atau klik kanan >> Open












2. Setelah Autorun dijalankan makaa akan muncul tampilan seperti di bawah ini









Pilih SQL Server 2000 Component
3. Maka akan muncul tampilan seperti di bawah ini












Pilih install Database Server
4. Setelah Install database server di klik akan munsul SQL server Installation wizard













Klik Next pada Installation Wizard
5. Selanjutnya akan muncul pilihan seperti berikut













Pilih Local komputer untuk menginstall SQL server di komputer anda
6.Akan ada pilihan
> “Create a new instant of sql server, or install client tools”
> “Upgrade, remove, or add component to an exciting intance of SQL server”
> “Advanced option”













Pilih "Create a new instant of sql server, or install client tools"
lalu klik Next >>
7. Masukkan Nama dan Company Anda













Lalu klik Next >>
8. Lalu akan muncul software license aggrement













Klik Yes >>
9. Selanjutnya akan muncul Installation Definition













Pilih sesuai kebutuhan anda
jika anda ingin menginstall server sekaligus client SQL server 2000 silahkan pilih “Server and Client tools”,
10. Selanjutnya akan muncul Instance Name













Beri tanda centang pada defaul
Lalu klik Next >>
11. Setelah itu akan muncul Setup Type anda dapat memilh salah satu misalnya "Typical"













Lalu klik Next >>
12. Setelah itu akan muncul Services Account
akan ada pilihan:
> Use the same account for each service. Auto start SQL Server Service
> Customize the settings for each service













Anda dapat memilih "Use the same account for each service. Auto start SQL Server Service" kemudian pada Service setting pilh "Use a domain user account"
Lalu klik Next >>
13. Selanjutnya kita akan masuk pada Authentication Mode
pada kotak pilihan. Pilihlah "Windows Authentication Mode"

14. Selanjutnya akan muncul Start Copying Files

16. Setelah proses penginstallan akan di mulai.

























tunggulah sampai proses tersebut selesai.
17. Apabila Proses sudah selesai maka akan muncul "Setup is preparing to configure the server ..."













18. Setelah Itu akan muncul Proses "Setup is Registering ActiveX Component"













19. Setelah semua proses selesai selanjutnya akan muncul "Setup Complete"
